Birmingham Half Marathon!

Hi everyone. Mum is a bit too shy to appear on my blog, so I thought I would show off her super Half Marathon medal on her behalf. It looks rather good on me, don't you think?
13.1 miles is a long way and I can only think that there must have been a big treat waiting at the end to make it all worthwhile!!

Great weekend. Great stick!

Hi Everyone,
My best human pal Callum has been to stay and we have had lots of fun playing in the garden with my toys and chasing sticks in the woods.
Callum found me this smashing stick.
As you can see, I enjoy running around with it for a while and then settle down for a good old chew!

Rest in peace dear Zak

Sadly I must tell you readers that my dearest doggie friend Zak passed away yesterday.
However, at nearly 17 years old we know that Zak had a full and happy life. He very much enjoyed his food (particularly cheese!), got very excited at EVERY 'walkies' opportunity and in his later years took great pleasure in pottering around in the garden. He was also a champion snoozer!
I will miss my pal very much, but wag my tail happily in memory of him. Bye for now Zak. xx

The Sunflower

For months and months this strange plant has been growing amongst mum's flowers. It looked like a weed, but it got bigger and bigger. Last week it finally opened up into a big sunny flower. It smells nice and attracts the bees.
I like sitting by this flower and listening to the gentle humming song as the bees collect their pollen. Summer at last!

The new carpet...

After months of tedious scraping of walls and ceilings; many applications of smelly coloured stuff brushed onto walls and the constant moving in and out of furniture; all is back to normal again in our lounge.

It didn't really look any different to me - until the day they changed the carpet.

It is so much more comfy! I just LOVE to laze and loll around on it. Apparently it doesn't show the dog hairs as much?! We shall see!

"Lazing on a sunny afternoooooooooooon........

......... in the summer time."
Can you guess the song from the lyrics readers?
Phew! it sure is sunny and I have been feeling lazy. What else is a black dog with a thick healthy coat to do on such days? Zzzzzz Zzzzzzz

Bonny, bonny Scotland

Hi folks, I'm just back from a long weekend with great friends who enjoy nothing more than walking through woods and along coastlines all afternoon. They made a big fuss of me each evening (being the only dog there) and then left me to snooze by the fire after tea. It has been terrific. Highlights include stealing a large stick off a big dog and running off with it and messing around in rock pools!

Spring in Cornwall

Hello there readers! We are just back from a weekend down in Cornwall with enough time spare to wash the muddy towels and clothing; replenish the goodie bag; drop you a line and head off up to Scotland.
I have had fun running on the beach in Hale and interesting sniffs around the standing stones at Men An Tol.
Watch this space for more adventures from up north!

Happy Easter, happy spring days!

Happiness is: sitting out in the garden, listening to the birds, watching my owners pottering happily in the garden. The sun is warm on my back and the scent of flowers tickles my nose.
Yes, well spotted, I have still got my football. It has lasted rather well, though it has nearly been thrown out a number of times!!

He's the gaffer!

I am hoping to do a bit more relaxing this weekend. Last weekend my owners and our neighbours were busy clearing the pond out below the bottom of our gardens. There was a lot for me to keep my eye on. I had to make sure I knew where everyone was and what they were doing. Phew, this supervisory lark is quite tiring!!

SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!!!!

Now I have to admit I am not brilliant around sheep. Given the choice I would chase them round all day. Knowing this, my owners keep me on a lead whenever there are sheep nearby and I have come to accept this is the way it is.

What I do find difficult is when the sheep start getting cheeky and get their own back by following us bleating loudly.

This happened last week on holiday. My owners said the sheep must think we are bringing them food, but I knew they were taking the opportunity to tease me because they knew that on the lead I could do no harm!

Cheeky things!!

Jolly Holidays!

What a great week away we have just had walking in North Yorkshire. Long walks every day with lots of interesting things to see and sniff, followed by snoozy evenings by the fire. I also got lots of fuss and attention in the local pub where dogs really do get treated well ( a biscuit on arrival EVERY night!). This picture of me was taken by the river Ure - good for paddling in.

The Burger King!

You know how much I love squeaky balls and you know how much I enjoy finding little snacklets left over from peoples picnics and take-a-ways. Well, yesterday I found a whole burger.... and it squeaked!
OK, so I would much rather have found a REAL burger, complete with chips, mayo and extra cheese; but a squeaky one is a good second choice!!

Is it Spring already?

Hi everyone,

I feel a bounce in my step and a wag in my tail. I sniff a perfume on the gentle breeze - all these bloomin' purple flowers I guess. Here I am out on my walk, yet dry and warm too! Spring feels well and truly on it's way today. I am feeling good and hope you are too.

Mr Snowman

Very strange.
One minute we were having a little knock-a-bout with my football; well, I was playing and he was in goals. The next minute, his head fell off - all very dramatic.
I guess he must of overstretched himself trying to make a save.

Snow at last!!

Hi folks,
Hope you have all been enjoying the snow. I have been running around in the garden with my football and sniffing out the foxes in the woods!
It's all so much more fun when the white stuff is falling!!

Meet Derek

Hi there! After a gloomy start to the week, when the alarm clock surprised everyone at an hour we hadn't seen for a couple of weeks, everything seems back to normal. I wondered if you had met our new addition, 'Derek'. He currently props the dinning room door open and I am not allowed to touch him. We have fallen out just the once and it took needle and thread to put things right. Strangely enough he doesn't seem to be around when I am left on my own. He doesn't say much either.
